Of The Wall

Main St. was initially designed by Phillip Johnson as the dictating factor in constructing the street walls on Roosevelt Island. While circulating along the street, people experience the feeling of being enclosed and immersed in the activities happening in between. However, the idea has been neglected, even forgotten, due to the lack of incorporation of the recently built structures.
This project reestablishes the scenographic condition of the original masterplan, as well as introducing a new dwelling typology.
